Governance Board Introduction Communication 4

Post by kathydeal »

So, Let’s Understand the Timing of the Implementation of the Governance Board

We want to make sure that we get all of the communications out by the end of May. These communications will be summarized in a newsletter that we hope to send out to all on the list of addresses we have at no cost to you. This newsletter should be a summary of the new By-Laws we are proposing to the community.
We would like to use June and July to communicate and answer questions the community may have with all that has been communicated. We would then like to compile concerns, and see if there are any small changes that may need to be made to the new By-Laws.
In August, we will have to present the new By-Laws to the community to give them time to digest the changes and get their questions answered. We will also need to make sure that we establish a temporary Nomination Committee so we can start the process of interviewing and vetting potential persons that want to run for the Governance Board and the two Sub-Committees.
In September, we will have to approve the new By-Laws for the community so elections can be held.
In October, we will have to hold the Governance Board elections in case persons on the existing boards run and get elected. Should this happen, we will have holes in the existing committees that we will have to fill.
Lastly, we will hold the Emmaus Committee and Chrysalis Committee elections in November.
The new organization and how it works will take some time to understand and quite honestly will take 3 years to get moving smoothly. I will send out one last communication that will have the details of the two elections and the positions with years of service. This will come out after two more communications explaining the positions on the Governance Board and the two Sub-Committees.
